Wespath: COMMENDED Best RI Report by an Asset Owner – Medium / Small Funds AuM < $25bn |
Judge’s Comment “The manager monitoring framework is clearly explained and provides evidence of the commitment to ensuring that RI is respected by all managers, with goals to extend to other asset classes in the future. The report recognizes the role that providing feedback to managers can play to improve the market as a whole.” |
Wespath Benefits and Investments (Wespath), through its Wespath Investment Management division, was commended by Responsible Investor (RI—UK news and events service) for the quality of its sustainable investment report, 2015-2016 Sustainable Investment Report: Global Investor—Sustainable Investor.
RI presented the commendation to Wespath’s Chief Investment Officer Dave Zellner on June 6, at the RI Europe 2017 Awards in London. The award recognizes best practices and promotes transparency in sustainable investment reporting. Wespath was the only U.S.-based asset owner nominated in the "Best RI Report by an Asset Owner" category; it is the second time RI has recognized Wespath for its sustainable investment reporting.
Mr. Zellner said: “We are pleased to be recognized by Responsible Investor for excellence in sustainability reporting. We publish this report to model our long-standing belief that transparency and robust disclosure among the companies in which we invest provides shareholders with important information that helps them assess long-term value.”
Wespath’s Sustainable Investment Report details how the agency incorporates the consideration of environmental, social and governance factors into investments across asset classes, and it demonstrates how Wespath selects and monitors external asset managers. These efforts support long-term value creation while having a positive impact on the environment and society.
