Silicon Valley Bank's Failure Reinforces Importance of Long-Term Investment Plan
Last week the United States suffered the second largest bank failure in its history. Amid a run on deposits, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) lost 60% of its market value on Thursday, March 9, and within the next day it was taken over by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). While Wespath acknowledges that these unexpected events could have adverse near-term impacts, we remain steadfast in our belief the U.S. and world economies have been—and will continue to be—resilient in the face of near-term setbacks.
